Celebrating 13 years in Georgetown, Tx.
About us
Seeking.
We Seek to be a community of faith that is open to all, offering the freedom to explore the questions of life and faith – a safe space that allows you to be who you are, while also being encouraged, nurtured and challenged. We want to be known as a church where we live our faith and hope through service and acts of compassion and justice. Our many stories create a beautiful tapestry, woven together, and bound in community.
Open.
We are Open to all and want you to know you are accepted for who you are without judgment or condemnation. “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.”
Open-Minded.
We are Open-Minded about the Word and the ways God is at work in our lives. We believe more in exploring the questions of life and faith than having the “right answer.” We believe that God is still speaking, still acting, still working for peace and justice, still surprising us with miraculous wonder.
Spiritual Growth.
We seek Spiritual Growth because we are all on a journey, but God is always calling us to be more than we are, to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, to grow in faith and service and love. Our Lord walks with us that we might find meaning in our lives and make a difference in the lives of others. We offer safe space where people of all ages can explore, grow and learn about God and the Christian faith.
Compassion, Peace, and Justice.
God calls us to care for others to love God and neighbor, and to work for a better world through service, mission, and prophetic witness. We have many ways that we serve our communities.
Affirming.
Hope United is Open and Affirming. For Hope United, this means embracing diversity, and affirming the dignity and worth of every person, since we are all created in God’s image. We welcome into full membership and participation in the Body of Christ persons of every race, ethnic background, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, socio-economic background, immigration status, marital status and faith background. We welcome all to share in the life, leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, responsibilities and blessings of participation in our congregation.
Meet Rev. Marek Bozek, Transitional Pastor at Hope United
Reverend Marek Bozek, originally from Poland, received his theological education in Warsaw, Poland, and the United States, where he attended St. Meinrad Seminary & School of Theology in southern Indiana. His postgraduate studies took him to Jerusalem, Israel and Utrecht, the Netherlands.
While in St. Louis, Missouri, he gained recognition for his advocacy for justice, which eventually led him to leave the Roman Catholic Church. Following that departure, he served the independent and inclusive Polish church in St. Louis for 17 years.
In 2023, Marek decided to relocate to Central Texas to work as a hospice chaplain. As of July 1, 2024, he also took on the part-time role as the transitional pastor at Hope United after attending Hope United as his own church for several months.
Marek enjoys teaching, preaching, traveling the world, and caring for his cat, Louis.
His worship services at Hope United are designed to be relaxed, thought-provoking, and spiritually enriching, often challenging traditional perspectives. He aims to keep the congregation engaged by providing meaningful insights and practical applications for their daily lives each week.
Marek is dedicated to upholding Hope United's open and affirming identity, welcoming individuals of all ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, political beliefs, and stages of their faith journey. He strongly believes that there is a significant need for an open, affirming, accepting, and loving Christian community in Georgetown, the fastest-growing city in the country.
Marek shares Hope United's mission-oriented philosophy, which involves supporting local charities and non-profits dedicated to serving the needs of the area's most vulnerable. Each month, the congregation dedicates its "special monthly mission" collection entirely to a specific local charity chosen by the Mission Committee.
Reverend Marek Bozek is currently in the process of exploring standing with both the UCC and DOC denominations.
